PCA pep rally pumps up basketball players for rival BA game
PCA played their biggest rival, Bulloch Academy, on Friday, January 13. The varsity cheerleaders hosted a pep rally to get everyone ready for the big games. To pump up the basketball players and the rest of the crowd, the cheerleaders cheered for the basketball players as they ran through a run out sign and ran around the gym. Following the run out of the players, the cheerleaders performed their “fight song.” After the fight song, the cheerleaders called down the following siblings: Cameron and Megan Dutton, Kort and Kane Kennedy, Sky and Shelton Rogers, Raegan and Preston Waters, and Logan and Clair Lewis. They participated in a relay game. The siblings had to run and pop a balloon chest to chest, sitting in a chair in the other sibling’s lap, and then by laying on the floor.
For the next game, the cheerleaders called Parks Hagan and Carleigh Bell to see who could make the most free throws in one minute. Carleigh Bell was the winner, so she and her coach, Elizabeth Tatum, had the opportunity to pie Coach Hill and Mrs. Lacy Shuman. Since Parks lost, Matt Todd, Varsity boys’ basketball coach, pied Parks. After the pieing, Kaleb Shuman and Macy Pirkle were called down to see who could make the most free throws in one minute. Kaleb won, but both of them were pied by each other. To conclude the pep rally, the students participated in the “spirit stick” wars. Lower school, 5th and 6th grades won the tie breaker between 1st-3rd grades and themselves in a dance off with the junior class being the clear winners for the upper school.
