New Renovations at PCA

By:  Lauren Shiver, junior

Along with a new school year came new improvements to our campus. The gym, softball field, lunch room, and weight room all received improvements.

The gym was completely transformed by adding a beautiful hard wood floor and new orange and green sports banners.  The bleachers and walls were also repainted to brighten them up.

Another major addition to the campus is the new weight room, which has been moved from the football field house to the upstairs room in the high school building. The room was gutted, repainted, and now features new work out equipment outfitted with our school colors and PCA logo. When asked about the renovation, Coach Wasson replied, “I think [the weight room] will be a huge, positive impact on future athletics”. Coach Sumner added, ” [The weight room] is a good opportunity to improve fitness and strength of our athletes and will also be a great tool for rehabilitation for the athletes.”

The softball field has received a new brick backstop, netting, and a new seating area behind home plate. In honor of Peyton Randall, a memorial marque stone was placed in the brick backstop facing the new seating area behind home plate with the words “Stand Strong” underneath her name. When asked about the new additions, Coach Lewis’s replied, “They’re really nice!”

We are excited about these new additions and are already putting them to good use!
