Milligan Williams crowned Miss PCA 2017

Pinewood Christian Academy’s Miss PCA pageant was held Saturday, April 22, 2017. The pageant was a packed event held at the Eddie Durrence Gymnasium where 22 beautiful young ladies vied for the prestigious title.
In the weeks leading up to the pageant, the contestant participated in a Bible Study entitled “Play with Fire” by Bianca Olthoff. The study helped the girls gain insight into God’s character, discover the personal and powerful nature of the Holy Spirit, and understand the unique fire God places in each person to help them fulfill their God-given calling and Kingdom purpose.
The evening culminated into the crowning of Milligan Williams as the 2017 Miss PCA also winning the interview award and selected as Miss Congeniality by the other contestants.
The court included 1st Runner up, Anna Scott, daughter of April and Jesse Scott of Claxton; 2nd Runner up, Ansley Dykes, daughter of Heather and Will Dykes of Reidsville; 3rd Runner up, Alexis Durrence, daughter of Melanie and Al Durrence of Gooseneck; and 4th Runner up, Emily Griffin, daughter of Jill and Shelby Griffin of Claxton.
Hannah Stone, daughter of Krista and Dean Stone of Metter, was selected as Miss Photogenic and People’s Choice.
Entertainment for the night was presented by Miss Alexis Smith, 2016 Miss PCA as she performed a lyrical dance to “Overwhelmed”. In a second number, Alexis performed with the senior escorts to the song “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys. Senior escorts included: Kort Kennedy, son of Merrie and Don Kennedy of Jesup; Ridge Bradley, son of Jennifer and Ricky Bradley of Glennville; Matthew Floyd, son of Tonia and Brian Floyd of Claxton; Jake Woolard, son of Angie and Greg Woolard of Glennville; and Zac Kumpula, son of Beth and Keith Kumpula of Claxton.
The emcee for the evening was the 2003 Miss PCA, Brooke Stewart Smith of Claxton who did a beautiful job presenting the girls and entertaining the crowd.
Mrs. Jennifer Bradley, Mrs. Brooke Smith, Mrs. Cyndi Rogers, and Mrs. Henri Etta Rogers worked tirelessly to put on yet another amazing pageant for an evening of elegance, beauty, and grace. The stage was beautifully decorated with a back-lit cross surrounded with red, gold, and purple draping fabrics adorned with ferns and flowers along the base of the stage and surrounding the cross.
We look forward to what this year holds for Milligan as she wears her PCA crown representing our school as a reflection of Christ while striving to fulfill her God-given calling and Kingdom purpose with all the wisdom and grace we know her to withhold.
