LADY PATRIOTS REMAIN UNDEFEATED

The Lady Patriots of Pinewood Christian Academy have dominated the softball field so far this year in regular season play. They remain undefeated after a trip to Sandersville to face the Lady Eagles of Brentwood Academy.

The Lady Patriots struck early in the first inning with a bunt by Shelton Rogers followed by a steal to second.  Hanna Anderson would send her to third on a base hit passed second base.  Maggie Greer pings one to left field scoring Shelton.  Carleigh Bell up next follows the pattern with a base shot between short and third loading the bases.  A long fly ball to left field by Abigail Bland puts her on base and scores Hanna.  Ansley Howard scores Maggie and Carleigh with an awesome stroke to centerfield.  The Lady Patriots would finish the top of the first inning with a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Eagles follow with a 2 hit inning scoring 1 making the score 4-1 at the bottom of the first.  Shelton Rogers again bunts and steals second and Carleigh Bell’s double to left field sends Shelton home.

Brentwood was only able to put up one more hit the rest of the game due to the excellent pitching of Reagan Waters and defensive skills of Macy Pirkle and Jordan Jernigan.   Carleigh Bell brings in Hanna Anderson in for the final score of the game and the Lady Patriots win 6-1.
