When asked about how he felt about the opportunity he had been given, MacGregor states, “I feel that it is a doorway to the next and possibly the best part of my life. I would like to thank my coaches, my family, my team, and above all God for the opportunity he has given me.”
Joseph MacGregor, son of Joe and Krisch MacGregor of Reidsville GA, has wrestled for four years and he has earned several awards including: region champion and state champion in 2018, 2nd place in Trinity Invitational, 3rd place in Sweet Onion Memorial, 1st place in Viking Invitational, and region runner-up in 2017, and 4th runner-up in state in 2016 and 2017.
MacGregor’s father shared, “I’m proud of his accomplishments and I know he will do well in all that he does. Joseph should be very proud of himself just as we are of him.”
MacGregor’s mother added, “He has inspired me in so many ways that I am sure he doesn’t realize. I feel he will do great things and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next chapter in his life. He is an amazing young man.”
Coach Garrett Blaxton, who has coached MacGregor throughout his highschool career, commented, “I’m proud of this young man. He faced adversity in his years and was determined to fight and overcome them. He gained a lot of confidence in the process and came out on top.”
