Interact Club Serves Savannah

Thursday, before Thanksgiving break, PCA’s juniors and seniors of Interact Club traveled to Savannah to help prepare the 19th annual Thanksgiving dinner for the Old Savannah City Mission. Pinewood’s Interact Club has been helping the Mission for about 5 years, and the students are always a lot of help. Students prepared green beans, sweet potatoes, silverware, and dressing. Local news crews covered the story, and a picture of the students was on the front page of the Savannah Morning News. Though the students only prepared the meals, they were encouraged to pray for the people receiving the meal that Saturday, and afterwards, the students were given a tour of the Mission’s facilities. The Old Savannah City Mission is funded by people who care about the less fortunate and demonstrate it by giving of their time, talent and treasure. The Mission works with a bare-bone, dedicated staff of seven employees.  These community’s faithful servants work with hundreds of volunteers to deliver services to our community’s most vulnerable and needy citizens in a highly cost effective way. The Mission spreads the word of Jesus Christ to their “friends and neighbors”.
