Honors English students time capsule projects

By: Elizabeth O’Brien, PCA sophomore

This year’s Honors English II class at PCA made time capsule boxes as part of their unit to represent the book “Our Town” they read over the summer. In Act III of the play, the stage manager’s character describes a time capsule that is being prepared to keep record of the past so that the future citizens would know about the daily life their town used to have. The students each designed a box that represented who they are much like way the stage manager described the town. Items that the students included in their boxes were things like a picture of family and friends to represent the people in their life, a cross to represent their salvation, or a jersey to represent their love for sports. Each students’ box was unique and individual to them.
