Delaney Pirkle Crowned as PCA Homecoming Queen
Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) enjoyed its 2015 Homecoming celebration this past Friday, September 25, 2015, with the crowning of Delaney Pirkle as Homecoming Queen. Jena Brown was crowned as Homecoming Princess.
Both young ladies are seniors at PCA. Delaney is the 17 year old daughter of Keith and April Pirkle of Glennville. Jena is the 17 year old daughter of Stephen and Jennifer Brown of Claxton. Both young ladies were escorted onto Lowell Coley Field by their fathers.
Others in the court included senior representatives Brayden Bland, Alexis Smith, and Anna Freeman; junior representatives Katie Bell, Aubrey Ray Sheffield, and Emily Threlkeld; sophomore representatives Emily Griffin and Shelton Rogers; freshman representative Ansley Dykes; eighth grade representative Annie Glisson; and seventh grade representative Ella Anderson. The youngest on the field were flower girl Miss Anna Kate Croft and crown bearer Mr. Bray Deen who assisted the reigning homecoming queen, Miss Edie Threlkeld, as she crowned the queen.
The new Homecoming Queen, Delaney Pirkle, is an active young lady. She is a member of the Lady Patriot tennis team, the 2014 Lady Patriot AAA State softball team, the National Honor Society, FCA, and the BETA club. Delaney is an active member of Harmony United Methodist Church with whom she has participated in mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Her favorite subject is AP Calculus, and she plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in Pharmacy.
Homecoming Princess Jena Brown, is likewise involved in many activities. She is a member of the FCA, the National Honor Society, the BETA club, the varsity cheerleading squad, and the 2014 Lady Patriots AAA State softball team. She is also the reigning Miss PCA. Jena is a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and has volunteered for the Summer Food Service Program in Evans County for three years. Her favorite subject is American Government, and she plans to pursue a degree in psychology.
The evening’s homecoming celebration ended with a 28-7 victory over Augusta Prep. Congratulations Pinewood Patriots!
