Birds and Worms

The third graders of Pinewood Christian Academy recently enjoyed another exciting project. The children had been learning about invertebrates, or more specifically, animals without backbones. To learn about just how many invertebrates there are in the world, each student was asked to go out and discover some for themselves and bring back any invertebrates they may have found, such as insects.
The children had a fun experience discovering several different types of invertebrates and showing off what they could find. Most were surprised to discover that many were right in their own backyard. This project helped build the students’ knowledge of animals as well as to delve their own curiosity into just what makes an invertebrate an invertebrate.
