Pinewood Christian Academy held its 46th annual Miss PCA pageant on Saturday, April 21st. Friends and family gathered together in the Eddie Durrence Gymnasium to support and cheer on the 19 beautiful contestants vying for the Miss PCA title.

In the weeks leading up to the pageant, the contestants participated in a Bible Study called “We Saved You a Seat” by Lisa Jo Baker. The study took the girls deeper into Scripture and taught them what true friendship takes and what it looks like, which allowed the girls to become closer friends and bond as a group.

The theme of the pageant was “Girl’s Night Out”. The stage was beautifully set with a rustic wooden background with pink, gold, and white draperies surrounded by brightly colored spring flowers, ferns, decorative baskets, and an old-fashioned yellow bicycle.

The evening culminated into the crowning of the 2018 Miss Pinewood Christian Academy, Ansley Dykes, daughter of Will and Heather Dykes of Collins.

The court included 1st Runner-up, Taylor Watson, daughter of Joel and Brandi Watson of Metter; 2nd Runner-up, Hannah Stone, daughter of Dean and Krista Stone of Metter; 3rd Runner-up and Interview Award Winner, Emily Griffin, daughter of Shelby and Jill Griffin of Claxton; and 4th Runner-up, Braliee Jones, daughter of Brad and Lisa Jones of Metter.

Ella Anderson, daughter of Neal and Cindy Anderson of Glennville, was selected as Miss Photogenic.

Lilly Dasher, daughter and Jake and Toni Dasher of Glennville, and Payton Haddon, daughter of Scott and Mychelle Haddon of Nevils, were selected as Miss Congeniality by their fellow contestants.

Hannah Rice, daughter of Amanda Rice and Glenn Rice of Claxton, and Anna Scott, daughter of Dr. Jesse and April Scott of Claxton, were selected as the People’s Choice Award Winners.

The emcee for the evening was 2003 Miss PCA Brooke Stewart Smith, who did a wonderful job presenting the girls and entertaining the audience with her many jokes and stories.

2017 Miss PCA Milligan Williams provided the entertainment for the night singing “So Will I” by Hillsong, accompanied by her father Phillip Williams on the guitar. Milligan also performed with the five senior escorts, dancing to a montage of hits. She closed the evening and surprised the contestants by singing “The Gift of a Friend” before crowning as well.

The escorts for the evening were Connor Kennedy, son of Rusty and Daphne Kennedy of Claxton; James Rogers, son of James and Cyndi Rogers of Claxton; Sky Rogers, son of Scott and Sharon Rogers of Glennville; Ford Thompson, son of Michael and Jeanie Thompson of Glennville; and Collin Woolard, son of McCall and Kim Woolard of Glennville.
