Anna Freeman Speaks to K-5 on Agriculture
Pinewood alumna, Anna Freeman, came to Pinewood to help celebrate Agricultural week with the children in K-5. She read the children the book Who Grew My Soup? in which it explains where and how our vegetables are grown. Anna also presented a PowerPoint explaining what agriculture is and explaining how farmers grow our food. Georgie Grown, the mascot for Georgia Grown, told the children thank you for making Agricultural Awareness week such a success. Afterwards, the children were given “dirt cups” that consisted of Oreos, chocolate pudding, and gummy worms as snacks. The dirt cups were a fun way to show the soil our farmers use. The children wrote thank you notes to our farmers for growing our vegetables. Finally Miss Freeman, gave each student a Georgia Grown activity book to take home with them at the conclusion of her presentation.
